Let me go, let me go!
Can’t freeze my feet anymore!
Let me go, Let me go!
Go away now, you blue bore
I don’t care what you’re going to say
Let the ambulance come.
Your lines never worked on me anyway
Awesome
Hey! This is not cool. Blackmail is okay to get a date because consent is still there. And it’s only okay to get the date, nothing else. But getting a date through physical restraint is just as bad as getting one with mind control. Consent is violated.
I would argue that blackmail is every bit as much a violation of consent – violation of consent through manipulation still is a violation. The only exception that could even partly apply is if the blackmail were self-inflicted, or in the context of play.
(Or perhaps this is the adage I’m looking for. Puppeting is puppeting, whether or not you force your puppet to pull its own strings.)
Blackmail is okay because the other still has the ability to say no. Free will is still present. Just no has a consequences. However, freezing someone to the ground is a direct violation, in the same vien as mind control. The first makes you think you have no choice or forces you to make a difficult one, while the second removes choice entirely.
This is getting deep.
